I've taken my hair into my own hands again. I was bored with the regular and not ready to go for layers again so I decided to give myself side swept bangs.

As you can see from the picture, the hair around the frame of my face is a little past shoulder length. The hair around the nape of my neck goes down to about armpit length (not evenly of course, but who's counting). Its a lot longer than it looks in the pictures. Reminder - I did have bangs around March 2010 and haven't touched it since then.

I've had a significant amount of growth since then. The top of my head has always grown like its on miracle grow. Because of this, I felt comfortable experimenting with this section. If all else fails, hair grows!
I stared low and continued to cut more and more. It wasn't as easy to cut it diagonally like I imagined it would be. One side would always end up even with another. I eventually ended up wit the highest point around the corner of my mouth. I didn't touch the rest of my hair (big surprise) and I'll continue to let it do what it does. I'm not going to worry about evening up the hair down my back either. I know its super uneven due to my hairline, so I'm going natural in that respect, LOL.
After the cuts were all said and done, I finished with a little love from my flat iron (around 300 degrees) and played with a few different styles. The finished results were pretty fab...

Ciao! XOXO
The before pics remind me of Aalyiah! What kind of scizzors do you use to cut your hair?
ReplyDeleteLOL @ Aalyiah. I haven't heard that since like 7th grade. I bought the scissors at CVS for like $9 or something. If I could buy some all over again, I would pick a pair with some type of grip instead of all metal. Once you start cutting hair for a while, it really hurts your hand.
ReplyDeleteThankfully I didn't cut too long this time... But I do want to trim ends more often so who knows. I think I'm about to go cut some now. : ]
