Minus the Smooth-n-Hold Pudding, which I'll discuss later, I purchased online:
- Almond Oil
- Grapeseed Oil
- Jojoba Oil
- Cocoanut Oil
- Jamaican Black Castor Oil
Since I received them, I have used them pretty consistently on a daily basis and here is the breakdown. I've been using the almond oil daily as a body moisturizer and every so often as my sealant. I haven't quite figured out what I'm going to do with my grapeseed oil, but I did apply it to my face a few times and I believe it dried me out. I have always used and will continue to use jojoba oil as a part of my moisturizer that I apply daily to my hair. I used the cocoanut oil as a hot oil and deep conditioning treatment - I wasn't overly impressed with the results. Jamaican Black Castor Oil has become a weekly staple. I apply it to my clean scalp and massage every wash/condish, along with using it to seal my ends after a wash/condish.
I will say that my least favorite thus far is the cocoanut oil. The only reason is because it's really a solid (not oil) and I have to melt it in order to use it. Another not so favorite of mine is the Smooth-n-Hold Pudding. Ladies had been raving about it online, so I decided to give it a try (plus it was on sale at Sally's). On my hair it gave me minimum hold compared to the moisturizing gel that I use. I will say that it worked well for "all over" head coverage for when I wanted to smooth down everything for a bun, but it didn't do anything for my edges. I guess I'll have to try the Edge Control product...
I know we just made it to February, but once again I'm proud of the effort that I've made thus far. This past weekend was filled with food, fun, and a whole lot of funny, but I still managed to keep my hair routine in tact. If I could only find a workout routine that worked for me :-]
