It's official. Previously, I subscribed to the train of thought that the only way to keep and maintain curly hair via rods/rollers was by using wrap lotion. The foam type was my lotion of choice. But little did I know, that great curls were achievable through the use of my little concoction.
A few weeks back I had already washed and air dried my hair when I decided that I didn't want to do my hair for the week. At that point, I was thinking awwwwwwwwwww, I had already let my hair dry and I need it to be wet in order to set it. But I wanted to be lazy so I decided at that point to use my leave-in treatment. My leave in treatment consists of:
- Water
- Jojoba Oil
- Vegetable Glycerin
- Aloe Vera Juice
In the past, I'd gone light on everything and heavy on the water. This time around, I doubled up on the Aloe juice. Aloe has made all the difference in my hair. When I tell you my curls were soft, bouncy, and full of life, I speak the truth! It was an effect I had yet to reach with the foam wrap lotion. Sometimes I'd get it soft, but other times it was sticky, some curls would come out hard, or some just wouldn't set at all. Additionally, the curls lasted all week long (with a small touch up mid week) and looked better by the day.

After 6 Days of Re-Styling |

It was great to have amazing hair all week and all I had to do was fluff it out. The joys of simplicity. However, with that, I was still ready to go back to my usual bun the next week. I'm really enjoying my buns. I've found ways to get a little more flavor with it. Lately I've been twisting my hair up on the sides and pulling the back into a bun. I'll add new pics in my next post! Stay tuned! | | | |
